Why Your Support Matters

The Impact of Your Donation
WHAT IT TAKES TO KEEP US SINGING

Your generosity makes our rehearsals, concerts, and outreach programs possible.

Gifts to the Chorus support our core staff, rehearsal space rentals, guest soloists and musicians, sheet music costs, music arrangements and licensing costs, insurance, supplies, and other essential expenses.

It is essential to us that the opportunities to sing and enjoy music should be accessible to all. We are pleased to offer all of our programming at a pay-what-you-can rate, including attending or participating in our concerts. Therefore, all of our income comes from donations. We thank you for your donations, as you are helping us keep the joy of singing accessible to all New Yorkers.

BEQUESTS

Leave your own musical legacy with a gift to the chorus in your will.

There are several ways to make a planned gift, depending on your circumstances and your advisors’ guidance. You may choose to leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. You can also make a bequest of property or designate your gift for a particular purpose — such as supporting soloists or any aspect of the Chorus that matters most to you.

We have given an example here, although it is not intended as tax or legal advice. We recommend that you consult professional advisors when considering charitable bequests.

CASH BEQUEST
To New York City Community Chorus, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, presently located at 35 West 8th Street, Suite 3R, New York, NY 10011, I give (the sum of ______ dollars) or (___ percent of the rest, residue or remainder of my estate), to be used for its general purposes.

MEMORIAL GIFTS

You can honor someone who sang with the Chorus—or someone who cherished our music—by making a gift in their memory. It is a loving way to celebrate their life through song.

A receipt will be provided for your donation. At your request, we can also contact family members or friends to share that a memorial gift has been made. (Gift amounts are kept confidential unless you indicate otherwise.)

IN-KIND GIFTS

Please consider whether you have property you’d be willing to donate or skills the Chorus could benefit from. If you’re unsure about what we currently need, feel free to reach out — we’ll be happy to let you know.

It was so beautiful to see the community come together at the New York City Community Chorus’ December concert.

The show’s loving energy was palpable, and it was so wonderful to sing alongside the chorus for some songs. I look forward to bringing my family and friends to the next show!
